With the arrival of summer, changing weather conditions, including high temperatures, thunderstorms, typhoons and other inclement weather, pose a considerable challenge to the safe operation of new energy vehicles. In order to ensure that the majority of new energy vehicle users can safely and smoothly use the vehicle, we would like to provide the following guidelines:

I. Rainy season

Driving tips:

  • Driving in water: Please make sure that the depth of water on the road does not exceed 300mm, the speed of the vehicle is controlled within 10km/h, and the wading time should not exceed 10 minutes. Always pay attention to the instrument alarm and keep driving cautiously.
  • Deep water avoidance: If the water on the road exceeds 300mm, please make sure to change lanes or suspend the use of the vehicle, and do not forcibly wade into the water, so as not to cause potential safety hazards.
  • Handling of stalling: If the vehicle suddenly stalls in deep water, please evacuate passengers immediately, switch off the key and main switch, and tow the vehicle away from the waterlogged area as soon as possible.

Parking advice:

  • Choose an open area: Please park the vehicle in an open and well-drained area to ensure that the depth of water does not exceed 250mm in extreme cases.
  • Long-term parking: For vehicles parked for a long period of time (more than two weeks), it is recommended to keep the charge level between SOC 40-70% and to carry out battery equalisation maintenance every three months.

Charging instructions:

  • Keep dry: When charging, please ensure that the charging gun and charging base are dry and free of ablation, and avoid open-air charging in rainy days.
  • Prohibition of charging in abnormal weather: charging is strictly prohibited in abnormal weather such as thunderstorms and typhoons.

II. High temperature

Driving points:

  • Check the coolant: check whether the coolant in the expansion tank is sufficient before departure, and check whether the cooling system works normally on a regular basis.
  • Tread lightly on the accelerator: Please tread lightly on the accelerator and brake during starting and driving to reduce power consumption, increase comfort and slow down the rise of battery temperature.
  • Air-conditioning use: The temperature setting of the all-electric air-conditioning should not be too low and the running time should not be too long, in order to maintain the range of the vehicle.

Parking recommendations:

  • Avoiding exposure to sunlight: the vehicle should try to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to reduce the heat load and prolong the service life of the equipment

Charging Precautions:

  • Naturally cooled charging: Naturally cooled battery models should avoid charging during the day to prevent high battery temperatures and slow charging problems.
  • Safe charging: Please ensure that the charging post plug matches the vehicle socket type and check whether the plug and socket are in good condition, and avoid non-professionals approaching and operating the charging equipment.

III. Typhoon

Driving Reminder:

  • Handling of water-related stalling: If the vehicle stalls in a deeper section of water-related road, please do not try to start it again to avoid causing secondary accidents. Please handle the evacuation of passengers and switch off the power supply in an orderly manner.

Parking advice:

  • Choose a safe place: Please park the vehicle on an open road or indoor to ensure the safety of the vehicle, and turn off the battery power and doors and windows.

Charging Ban:

  • Vehicle charging is prohibited in abnormal weather such as typhoons to ensure the safety of people and vehicles.

Follow the above guidelines and let’s work together for the safe operation of new energy vehicles.

We supply a wide range of depot vehicles and used vehicles, such as buses, vans, truck tractors, dump trucks, cranes, excavators, loaders, concrete pumps, new energy cars and so on.
